After my desktop crashed due to mulitple viruses, I needed something to replace it in a hurry. I bought this PC not because I worked for HP 21 years ago, but because it was a reasonable deal at Fry's 2 months ago ($479). It was not the absolutely lowest price (some got it at $450 from Staples), but acceptable. Amazon's price seems too high. It seems to work fine with the typical Windows 7 applications such as Offices, IE, FireFox and so on. Amazon moved the date up two different times. It ended up arriving on Dec, 24th, just in time for Christmas! He was very happy to say the least. It arrived undamaged and in working order. As many of the other people in the reviews wrote the directions could use a little help, but after a little research and a call to my installer I found out the extra wire was to power the old themastat. This one has batteries and does not require power. The thermostat works great! I think I already saved more than what the termostat cost on my last electric bill. Our great room is only used about 8 hours a day. Now we are able to cut the thermostat back to 60 when not in use ...more
